Thermoplate ECO

Save around 10% energy with Thermoplates®eco GN pans

Thermoplates®eco, a range of general-purpose cooking pans including 1/1 GN, 65 mm and 100 mm tall, that it says will save caterers 10% energy.

The new pans save energy because they conduct heat more efficiently, heating up faster and cooling down quicker than conventional pans. They are made using a triple layer sandwich construction with a highly heat conductive aluminium core between two stainless steel layers.

The range includes a Teppanyaki pan and ‘stackable’ pans which do not stick together when drying.

Rieber says its new Thermoplates®eco are not just a GN container but your energy-saving GN cooking pot.

In tests using mashed potato as the food, Rieber found that almost 10% energy was saved compared to using a conventional stainless steel GN pan. Whether cooling down or regenerating, the pans also saved an amazing 21% in time!

BGL Rieber’s MD, Gareth Newton commented: “At a time when energy bills are soaring in price, Thermoplates®eco pans will give substantial cost savings.

“All caterers are trying to achieve less carbon footprint per meal produced. These pans will pay for themselves hundreds of times over! A 10% saving on energy adds up to thousands of pounds over the lifetime of an oven or blast chiller.

“The time saving is a bonus because, whether you are heating or cooling, your equipment just gets more productive with Thermoplates®eco and that means improved sustainability.”

Thermoplates®eco are used for preparation/chilling/regeneration and can be used with direct contact heat on all heating sources (gas, ceramic, induction, electric).

In combination with Rieber’s GN lid range, Thermoplates can be securely closed with leakproof lids for transport and storage. There is also Vaculid® lid for vacuuming and low-temperature cooking.

The surface of the pans is coated with a robust and scratch-resistant ‘nano surface.’ Stackable pans feature a stacking shoulder for easy unstacking, which also means the pans can hold more than conventional models.
