The Hub at the University of Glasgow has been designed to form the heart of the university. It offers easy access to a variety of student services, coffee bars, a food court with seating for 400 and with space earmarked for a bookstore, GP practice and a pharmacy.
Designed and installed by Catering Design Group, there is a complete new kitchen and a theatre cooking suite featuring a Rieber Varithek ACS 1000 front cooking unit, chosen especially because it has the ventilation system built-in and does not require an overhead canopy.
Supplied with the Varithek were two induction hobs and Thermoplate triple-layer grill plates.
Also installed on this project were two 100 litre Hackman Metos Viking cooking kettles for use in the main kitchen to produce soups, stews etc.
