RieBear loves to help serve better food and that is why he chose to be an ambassador for BGL Rieber, who make it their job to help public sector caterers cook, transport and serve better food.
Our ‘Adopt a RieBear’ competition to win up to £500 for charity was open to all public-sector catering managers.
And the winner is: – Dawn Harvey, Regional Operations Director at ISS Facility Services UK, who wins £500 for her chosen charity, The Moat School, Bishop’s Avenue, Fulham Road, London.

Dawn’s winning Riebear photo, was titled: Bear Necessities!
“The Moat School specialises in teaching children with SPLD and other challenges, from year 6 onwards,” said Dawn. “These children enter the school with low self-esteem and, in my experience, total school disengagement.
“Previous settings labelled them as lazy, unwilling to learn, disruptive; but in actual fact these children are bright, hungry to learn individuals who just need to be taught in a way which they understand.
“The Moat has dedicated staff who work to unlock their learning potential. The transformation is remarkable. These once disengaged individuals leave school as confident, independent young adults. A remarkable school, with amazing students and dedicated teaching staff. Each child is unique and each child is given the opportunity to achieve.”

Headmistress, Clare King, thanking Dawn and BGL Rieber for the contribution to school funds – AND HER OWN PERSONAL RIEBEAR! – added that the cash would most likely be put towards a new minibus. The school has no sports facilities of its own and is a keen supporter of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme and all the usual sporting activities.
Acquiring a mini-bus would be “life-changing” said Clare.
