Systems:

Double the shelf life of your food

Rieber has launched a new waterproof press-in lid for GN food storage containers. The lid features an integrated ‘fresh membrane’ that releases gases to give food a significantly longer shelf life.

Shelf life is doubled for salad and raw food such as vegetables and fruit.

The Fresh Membrane GN lid from Rieber is also ideal for storing freshly roasted coffee beans because the gases released, mainly CO², are safely vented out of the container, but no oxygen is allowed in to accelerate spoilage.

Gases cannot escape conventional airtight packaging, causing food to suffocate and spoil. Rieber’s new Fresh Membrane GN container lid is made of hygienic stainless steel, is available in various GN sizes, and is compatible with all existing Rieber GN containers.

HOW THE FRESH MEMBRANE WORKS:

The Fresh Membrane Lid allows gases that spoil salads, mainly CO², to escape, effectively doubling the shelf life. The lid does not create pressure, and no oxygen can get in to spoil the food.

Gareth Newton, MD, BGL Rieber: “The Fresh Membrane Lid from Rieber helps caterers reduce fresh food waste and better protects food if it needs to travel for delivery and storage.”
